I have a little tidbit of humor for all of you bloggers. Last Friday when my Microbiology professor was getting ready to present the 'Disease of the Day' he told us about how that morning at breakfast his wife inquired what disease we would be covering today. He responded my telling her it was syphillus. Instantly his wife starts laughing. He nicely asks, "Honey, why are you laughing at me? This is a very common bacteria-based disease that is becoming more and more prevalent around the world." While this was true, and very intellectual, this helped the matter none. Once his wife finally came to she said, "Dear, that is mean to talk about syphillus, one of the more popular STD's known right before Valentines's day." Cue gut-shaking laughs from my fellow classmates.
What lesson can we learn from this nasty, lesion causing disease? As the coach on Mean Girls would say: If you have sex you will get pregnant; and die! So be safe not sorry and enjoy your Valentine's day holiday!

Hee hee hee. We are also having our big STD lecture in my Infection and Immunity class on Valentine's Day! Nothing like pictures of various body parts with lesions on them to set the stage for romance! :)
Ha! So true!
